Most parenting advice is all about modifying or controlling our children’s behaviour.
And I realized that for me, parenting is less about parenting my child, and more about parenting myself.
Dr. Shefali’s teachings have inspired me to place more value on my inner work. I believe it is the greatest work we can do as parents, so that our children can enjoy their simplicity and freedom without us passing down our own wounds and traumas.
Her book on conscious parenting can help you gain insight into why your children “trigger” you and what you can do about it.

What is the Virtual Book club about?
I started this virtual book club to meet other women who were interested in topics of personal development and mindfulness.
The book club is a safe space for women to share and discuss topics & lessons found in the books we read.
How do I join the book club?
Sign up using the form found on this page. You will receive a confirmation by email with all the details and link to attend our meetups on Zoom.
Is the virtual book club online or in person?
All the meetings will take place on Zoom. Participants will need to download the Zoom application to their computer or phone and create an account (it’s free). The calls are not recorded and the replays of the meetups will not be shared.
Is it OK if I listen to the audiobook?
All forms of reading are valid. You can choose to read a physical copy, listen to the audiobook on Audible or buy the e-book on your Kindle or Kobo. Or even get a library copy!
Do I have to keep up with the club?
You can read or listen the book at your own pace. Each meetup will be loosely centered around specific chapters of the book.
But the main format of the meetups is open group share & discussion. I will share some self-reflexion prompts before each meetup, so you can still contribute to the discussion and not feel left out if you’re not caught up.
I have another question. How can I reach you?
Happy to answer questions you might have. You can message me by clicking the chat box in the bottom right, or send an email to kris[at]krisdaria.com with what you’d like to know.
